Finding “the” pair of jeans for you can be a difficult task. Denimology means understanding your shape and your personality to find the style and brand you should be faithful to.

1. Straight Leg

Looks good on most figures. Best for women with a triangle shape because like the flare it helps to balance your hips from below. Inverted Triangle should avoid a dark straight leg jean because it will make your hips to small to carry your broader shoulders.

2. Trouser*

This cut is flattering on most shapes. And great for those business casual days.

3. Skinny

Skinny jeans look best on the long-legged and slender rectangle and hourglass shapes. A Triangle shape should stay away from this look to avoid looking overly top heavy.

4. Flare*

Great for women with a triangle shape because they help to balance out larger hips and/or thighs. Also a nice option for almost all other body shapes.

5. Bootcut

This classic style is best for the fuller figure, particularly if it has clean lines with minimal detailing and embellishments, which add unnecessary bulk.

6. Wide Leg*

Wide legged jeans are popular because of their comfort and versatility factor. They are also kind to triangle shaped women as they balance out larger hips and/or thighs.

*Styles accompanied by an asterisk compliment most shapes as long as the wash and details work with the individual’s personal style.

Faithful Tip: The darker the color, the more slimming the jean. Go for grays, blacks and dark blue (indigo) if you want to create the illusion of thin legs and hips. Pair with heels to add extra length!
