The One-of-a-Kind Show is almost here and is one of my favourite shows in Toronto because it’s got everything a girl could ask for. From cookies and home decor to clothing and jewelry! It is the perfect spot to seek out gifts for the holidays, discover new designers, partake in delicious delights and believe it or not to get in some good exercise. The show opens up on November 26 and runs until December 6, 2009. It is held at the Direct Energy Centre on the Exhibition Grounds and is open Weekdays 11-10pm, Saturdays 10-9pm and Sunday 10-6pm.
Don’t miss out, there are over 700 artisans from all over Canada showcasing their talent. I have a One-of-a-Kind ritual that I do every year and that is heading over to the show on the opening day, making my first stop at Coach House Shortbread Company (Booth c-20 this year) and buying as many boxes as I can carry. Opening up a box only to devour the entire thing while walking the many aisles. My usual stops are Kania (Booth E-44), Ice Art (Booth S-54), Jenny Greco (Booth R-15) and Erin Tracy Designs (Booth J-35). But I must say I enjoy every part of the show, the trades are interesting, the designs are capivating and the artists are warm and welcoming.
Advanced tickets are $10 and at the door $12, check it out I know you will not be disappointed. Helpful Hint: it takes approximately 3-4 hours to get through the entire show (if traveling at a good pace), but don’t worry – there is free re-admittance if you aren’t able to see it all. Happy Shopping!
