I’ve lived in Canada my whole life but I’m still not use to this cold weather. It seems to get colder ever year and as the temperature continues to drop I continue to search for ways to stay warm. So I was extremely excited when I came across these chic toques from Canadian brand Norbis, made from knitted wool, lined with faux fur, satin or fleece. What I love most about Nobis is that they believe a journey through one’s life consists of true friendship, passion, kindness, honesty and love for all you encounter. Blending spiritual symbols, healing gemstones and sacred meanings, Satya Jewelry is created with grace, style and a global consciousness. Founders/designers and longtime friends, Satya and Beth, translate their spiritual exploration into jewelry with the intention to inspire each persons individual truth.

Having spent years developing their knowledge of the jewelry industry, Satya and Beth decided to pursue their dream of designing their own line while on separate soul-searching journeys.

Satya is inspired by the designer’s many travels across the world, encountering cultures, temples, villages, museums and local markets. Such diverse elements as personal meditation, Thai textiles, ancient Indian coins, Sanskrit words and castings from found objects (including shells, stone carvings and leaves) evolve into unique designs.

Each collection combines semi-precious gemstones, with sterling and gold. Stones are chosen for their healing properties such as garnet (grounding and inner strength), sapphire (fulfills dreams and desires) and tourmaline (inspiration). Each piece is tagged so that the wearer will know the healing property of the stone and the meaning of the pendant.

Montreal Designer, Lea Desrosiers is one of the rising star booths I visited last week at the One-of-a-Kind Show. Her beautiful silk constructed flowers are delicate, elegant and feminine. Her line consists of headbands, brooches and scarves and prices range from $50-$125. All handmade and hand-stitched. Shasmah Anderson, mother of two is the founder and designer behind this wonderful and spirited collection of clothing, jewelry and accessories. Her designs are unique, the feeling is special and the outcome is nurturing style to the generation. The best part is, her sizes go up to ladies! (One-size-fits-all!) My new hair care obsession…

Moroccan Oli

My obsession began while getting my haircut back in June.  Before blowing out my hair, my stylist put in a treatment that smelt absolutely delicious.  Once my hair was dry, she spritzed it with an equally delicious smelling shine spray.  My hair never felt better.  I immediately bought both products and haven’t used anything else since.  Since then, I have added the Shampoo and Conditioner to my list of obsessions.

Those who know me know how fanatical I am about straightening my thick wavy hair EVERYDAY!  I start off my day by using the Moisture Repair Shampoo and the Moisture Repair Conditioner.  I then apply a dime sized amount of The Original Moroccanoil® Treatment to my damp hair.  My hair is like a sponge, it sucks in water and takes forever to dry but with the treatment my hair is fully dry in 7 minutes.  I then spritz my hair with the Glimmer Shine Spray before straightening it with my flat iron.  Within 20 minutes I have straight, shiny, great smelling hair!  I get compliments on my hair almost daily which is even more reason for me to continue using these products.
